I agree with Jimmy: Long live the VFB !! I "stumbled" onto the VFB by accident quite a few years ago. I arranged to meet Tony in Salt Lake City, when he was at the Outdoor Show as a tier for Gudebrod. Tony: What year was that? I have been to the Sowbug three times. Last year I tried to take pictures of as many VFB members as I could find. I feel that I have become a better tier because of the VFB and by participating in swaps. As many as I could, at first. When I saw the quality of work out there it "inspired" me to tie better, especially dry flies, which is my first choice to fish with. I hope to come back to the Sowbug again. I hope to fish with DonO some time. I have fished with Tom Davenport several times. I have met with and tied with Joyce Wesphal. What a great tier and teacher she is. Another former VFB list member Karl Barton and his wife, Marcia< had Allan and Martha Fish come to Utah, and went to dinner with them. I have informed the University that I will formally terminate my employment there in June of this coming summer, after which I hope to travel to see more of the great state of Utah, and fish more of it. If I wear my Honda 4-wheeler out, I will probably buy another. I cannot imagine a greater collection of terrific people with so much in common as the VFB. There is a fly tying/fishing group here in Utah called "Utah on the Fly", but I find them quite unresponsive and uncaring about their prospective members. Long Live the VFB !!!!!
