I fly fish for carp in England but can only seem to catch them off the surface.
They are one of our most popular species but are not generaly present in Trout 
streams or Salmon rivers.
I agree that non native species of anything should be introduced to waters as 
we are finding out with Crayfish and Mitten crabs, I think people have tried to 
introduce Small mouth Bass but not with much success, a few other foreign 
species show up now and again.
