I fly fish for carp in England but can only seem to catch them off the surface. They are one of our most popular species but are not generaly present in Trout streams or Salmon rivers. I agree that non native species of anything should be introduced to waters as we are finding out with Crayfish and Mitten crabs, I think people have tried to introduce Small mouth Bass but not with much success, a few other foreign species show up now and again.
