As far as lighting goes I have a folding lamp from Home Depot that uses the daylight bulb like the Ott light also have stand light that does the same. Cut a 45-60 degree angle part way into a piece of 2x4 or block of wood (approx. half way through the block or three quarters to an inch deep) and you can stick a piece of cardboard or foam of varying colors into it as a backdrop to help make your flies "pop out" at you.
