Folks: I just saw another TV ad for the Wounded Warrior Project, and was really moved by it. I know this don’t have anything to do with fly fishing, but it does have something to do with US, which is to help each other among other things. I am attaching the page you need to go to in order to donate. I am proud to say that there are those in these groups who are and have been helping wounded warriors for a long time now.
Anyway, starting at only $19 a month will help wounded men and women make a smoother, less financially burdened transition back to the civilian world without having to worry about as many things as they would otherwise. You may not be able to help any of these ppl personally, but you can help them ALL in some small way by just giving to this great program. As a disabled Vet myself, I know what it’s like to have to drive up to 120 miles round trip (which I did for almost 20 yrs when I lived in FL) every cpl moths or even more often at times just to see a VA doc. Sure, they paid us a “mileage” and a “meal”, reimbursement, but believe me, it did NOT cover the actual cost of the gasoline alone, much less food, wear and tear on your car, time taken off work etc. Thanks a LOT in advance on behalf of the Wounded Warriors you will be helping. I know it means a LOT to them. I know there are some great hearted ppl in this group.
