Folks: I was watching a “How it’s made” rerun today and they showed “Folding
Kayaks”. The ones they made can be folded up and stored in a duffel bag. We
have a few lakes here that we have always wanted to get to the back of to fish,
but you cannot walk around it, and you can’t launch even a jon boat because the
place you can get to to bank fish is on about a 60 degree incline for the most
part. But we have seen ppl haul 1 pound plus bluegills out of there, and 10+
bass. And you can get them in one or two seaters, and the two seaters have a
capacity of 550 pounds, and also it said ppl have actually crossed OCEANS in
them. The ones they showed have these two tubes about 5” diameter that blow up
after you put the things together, making them virtually unsinkable it said.

But, I saw the show and thought” Yeah, they probably cost a zillion dollars”,
so I went to Dicks Sporting Goods, and you can get the one seaters starting at
only $449, and the two seaters at only $649. (see link below) Yes, that is a
lot of money, but no more than most canoes, and certainly less than my 14ft
aluminum jon boat would cost if I bought a new one. It would be awesome for
those hard to reach fishing holes for sure. I’m gonna have to start saving my
pennies. Or, my wife just got a promotion, and if she meets certain criteria
each mont, she gets a $400 per month “bonus”. Cpl months like that and we could
buy one and outfit it too LOL. Chuck
