Hi VFB!

September and early October were just wonderful here in central Oregon for
camping. Perfect temperatures, no people, no bugs, no wind, etc. etc. Was
the best experience in years. At least a side benefit from the ongoing
drought.

Fishing during that time wasn't anything to complain about. Managed some
rainbows around four pounds.

Now, however, the last week of the general fishing season, getting out is a
bit of an adventure! I am headed to Wickiup Reservoir this afternoon and
early evening to C&R fish for the big brown trout staging at the creek
mouths prior to the spawn.

Weather is significantly changing, rainy and windy, and unpredictable. We
may get our first significant snowfall of the season in the high country
over the weekend. We really need that badly, no snow again this winter and
the coming season will be kaput. We have six-square-mile lakes here with
only a foot deep water. Fish are jammed into the deeper channels. Not a
healthy situation.
