Like most rules, I tend to them of them as ‘guidelines’. And you know how much I like guidelines... they’re just made to be ignored. But not sure where the actual ‘danger’ lies.
Allan, was your life in danger when you tied on that #12 caddis while on midge waters? Side-bar: Just stir-seared 2 pounds of hot chili-peppers from my garden (like roasting), now simmering them for 4 hours in 4-oil blend with bell peppers (garden), tomatoes (garden), onions, & a lil’ garlic, AC vinegar, plus some spices. Going to use it as an adder for chilis, salsas, taco meats, etc. Maybe try a good Texas Red recipe I found on the internet. Don’t think I’ll be able to eat it from the jar or on chips, tho. Just the vapors got to me when I was searing them. I’ll have to go tie up some of Tony’s Chili-peppers while I have a good capsicum buzz going.
