Jack, Most fighting butts as I know them are retractile. The extension slides
into the regular seat..I would suggest you Google up Fighting Butts and see
what they show I have only made one rod wit a fighting butt and the person I
was making the rod for supplied the butt.Tony

The 7wt BlueHalo fiberglass blank has a .569 diameter butt which some say will
limit the choices for reel seats. I was thinking about a plain - sturdy
aluminum saltwater type reel seat. Not sure how to size the fighting butt for
the reel seat. Is there any difference in function between an inletted cork and
one that is not??
