This thread has gotten my interest going. I've
wondered about tying tube flies for a while now and
have a few questions about them for the list.
1.What kind of vise do most people use? Do you have to
buy a special tube vise or are there attachments for
standard vises? I own a Renzetti Presentation 4000, I
checked their website and found that they make an
attachment for the Traveler, but not for any of their
other vises, although they do sell a tube fly vise.
2.How difficult are tube flies to tie? will I need to
invest in new tools? I have the usual assortment of
tools for tying regular flies.
3.If a special vise is needed, how big a hit would my
budget take? Are there lower end vises that would be
adequate for non-commercial tying of just a few dozen
flies here and there?
Thanks in advance for all replies.
