No problem. I should have put a little smiley face next to my selective trout question. (Hand on my heart) "I hereby swear off the use of abbreviations as well." As for other thoughts on scuds, I've had people tell me that you want something soft like deer hair as the shellback on the pattern so as to keep the fish from expelling it quickly (and therefore more time for you to set the hook). Too hard or slick and the take is often unnoticed before the fish has already rejected the imitation. Anyone have any thoughts on this? I've always thought the Scud Back material was good stuff, and I have used the pearlescent Paper Twist from a craft store as well. Pretty cool looking, but maybe the old tried and true patterns like the Werner Shrimp should find its way back into my boxes. Regards, Monte
