For years I have used "Brushing Lacquer" thinned down and squeezed from one of those little plastic bottles with the long tube. A needle with a big plastic ball is at the top to retard the drying. Recently I have tried the Loon's water based head cement and really like it a lot. The only thing I do not like about it is that it doesn't dry fast enough and it doesn't seep into the thread windings fast enough. I have to use the rotary function on my Renzetti to keep it soaking in and not dripping or running. Yuck!!!
