Thanks again, Bud. This year will be my third season fishing for shad. Until a few years ago, I lived in shadless Tennessee. Now I live in the Washington, DC, area, and the fish make springtime runs up the Potomac and Rappahannock rivers. I've been fishing the Potomac about 2 or 3 miles upstream of the Lincoln Memorial. It just amazes me how good the fishing can be in the middle of an urban area. The place I go is pretty close to work, so I can get up early and put in a few hours on the river before work. I'd like to fish the Rappahannock, but it's an hour from home and I'm not familiar with river access.
