Been tying a fly similar to your Spider & I for a few years now. Only substantial difference is I use twisted marabou for the body, with a wire rib to strengthen it. Sometimes tie it with very small bead chain eyes Clouser style. Olive and amber seem to be the best colors for the body.

I'm not surprise that someone else is tying & using a fly alot like the SPIDER& I....nothing unique about it's construction...maybe the materials involved thought. I'll have to try some of your "MARABOU SPIDER & I" patterns..unless you have a name for it already....Email me off list & let's talk Bluegills...always a favorite subject, YES!!!
