Hi Shay,
Have you tried LaFontaine's Mess?  Size 8 with olive green colored packing foam
(I color the foam with a Prismacolor pen) as the overbody has done wonders for
me on the Metolius.  It's a notoriously tough river, but this fly during a
reasonable hatch is amazing!
