I have been using the new SA distance taper line for throwing double size 2 buggers on the Madison. I love that line for throwing big heavy bugs. Have not cast a better line!

--- Begin Message ---I'd love to watch someone TRY to Cast a Bass Bug or Popper on a Double taper...Yeah Right, Doin't think it's gonna work. Also that thing about "just Switch the line around when one end starts to go....Both ends of A Double Taper break down at the same rate, the "switching to the other End" is an Pitch come up with by flyline companies.... I tried it Once years ago...yeah the un-used end looked nicer, but it's surface was cracked & it sank like the other end. Since Matt wants to go Bass Bugging- Popper use, He needs a Weight Forward line.....

buy double tapered line, cortland or one of the other cheaper brands. the
good news about these is they get double duty, when the end you are using
starts losing it's quality, yoou simply switch the end you have tied to the
backing.
