I had the same thing happen to me once with an Airflo,
too. Was pulling on it to straighten out some coils
from being on the reel and it broke off in my hand.
I'm one heck of a studly guy <VVBG>, but not THAT
strong, so I have to figure something was wrong with
the line.
Regarding the DT lines and using both ends, the only
advice I've ever heard that made sense (and I think it
was somebody on the list that said it) is to swap ends
about every 5th or 6th trip. Strip it off the reel,
clean it and put the former "working end" toward the
reel. That way both ends get equal use. Sounds like a
major hassle to me.
And, since we're on the topic, does anyone use a Wulff
TT line? I have a 5/6 wt line that's only had 2-1/2
seasons of use or so and is developing some serious
checking and small cracks. I take fairly good care of
my lines (especially one as spendy as that) and
figured it would last longer that this. Has anyone
else had the same problem?
Sorry for such a long post. Thanks for any repllies.
