I have been tying on a Regal for over 10 years and fully agree with Rene.  You can do anything needed at all 360 and its a bulldog.  You can bend a hook double in it and it doesnt loose its grip.

I have carried it with me in my fly vest and it has taken a beating, still works like new.

My own personal preference is that I like to control the force applied to the hook manually... just a personal preference is all. No particular vise in mind.

Bill,

would you avoid spring loaded vices in general or this specific one?

I own a Regal and I'm happy with it.

Has anybody purchased a rotary vise from http://www.justflytying.com/tools.htm
No brand name or model number for the vise is specified.
Any good or bad experiences with this vise would be appreciated.
