Guys and Bill, I have to chime in with my .02 c right now. This line on that
particular vise has came up many times since ive been on here. Since ive had that
vise i still have that opinion. Its not that great. At Neil said, the screws are
very easy to strip. Bill, most likely you got lucky and got a good one. I have had 2
(one was warranty replacement). One is still on my desk. As soon as i can afford it
i will get a better vise. The large adjustment screw is already showing wear. I baby
the vise, i only tie on 14 and smaller on it, never any deer hair or over pressured
flies, i make sure jaws are parallel, I NEVER overtighten, and it still strips. You
may be like bill and get a good one, but from most of the people who have talked about
this one previously its not a good chioce. Go with a brand name as you will get much
better service and a longer life. About Bill and the Land Rover comparison, we have a
92 Camry with many many miles, were happy with it, but im gettin a Renzetti! Matt
