As a result of tying on the "show circuit" this past year, I have made two incredible connections and will be replacing almost all my rods. Before I go to the VHS and E-Bay auctions, thought some of you might be interested. Contact me off list. 1- GLOOMIS F1028/9 MEGA IMX This is an 8'6" 8/9 MEGA-2pc. and yes, it is an IMX. It was custom built for me by Bill Hayes in N.J. If you want to boat or land a salt water brute quickly, this is the rod. I got it for albies and stripers up north and for snook and small Tarpon in the south. I did get an 85 lb Tarpon on this rod when fishing for juvis. COMES WITH A DB DUN TRAVEL CASE 2. SCOTT HELI-PLY 887/3 This is a 9' 7wt 3pc. It is the rod that Chico Fernandez says is the perfect all around Florida Rod. When I hit the flats I bring two rods. This is one of them. I use I clear intermediate line with a Dupre Spoon on this rod and have caught more Redfish on this setup than on anything else I have ever used. Original tube and sock. 3. GATTI FR8611-3PA This is a Gatti 8'6" 11wt 3pc rod. It is my favorite Tarpon Rod. I was introduced to Gatti by Peter Gorinsky who guided me for snook and Tarpon in Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Lighter and Faster than a GLX. I own 5 of them !!!! It casts beautifully and you can handle large fish easily. One of the best things about them is if you break a section, you return that piece and for $25, they will send you that section back. You really have to throw with this rod to appreciate it.
