Ed:  Do you have a picture?    Larry J >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 03/04/02 04:34PM >>> Extended Body Foam Inchworm Hook:           Mustad 94840 size 18 (18-16) Thread: Yellow Body:           Green Craft Foam I like to use this fly as the dry part of a dry and dropper combo.  It is a one material fly that is effective on ponds when the inchworms are dangling from the trees on their long silken threads.  I am a little hesitant to say that I am the creator of this fly however.  Because it is so simple in design I feel that someone, somewhere must have tied and fished such a fly before. 1.      Cut the foam into a very narrow strip.  2.      Tie the middle of the foam in at the beginning of the bend of the hook. 3.      Wrap forward along the hook under the foam for a short distance. 4.      Form the next segment by wrapping over the foam and the hook. 5.      Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you reach the eye of the hook. 6.      Tie off the thread and cut. 7.      Take a piece of thread and form a surgeon's knot in it.  Before tightening the knot slip it over the extended portion of the foam and form the next segment by tightening the knot. 8.      Repeat the above until enough segments are formed so that the length of the segments on the extended portion equals the length along the hook shank. 9.      Trim the ends of the threads on the extended portion leaving about 1/16 " of thread sticking out. 10.     Coat the entire fly with clear nail polish or head cement. 11.     When dry, flex the extended portion of the fly to "break" the stiffness caused by the head cement.
