I use a "Mr. Coffee" grinder to mix dubbing. It is small, but its grinding chamber is still to big for any but a fairly large amount of dubbing. To solve this problem I made a plunger out of a bolt and a piece of thin cardboard (like cardboard used in a cereal box). Here is how you do it:
1. Place the top of the lid on the cardboard, and trace the round bottom. 2. Cut out the resulting circle about 1/4" smaller than the drawing itself. 3. Drill or punch a hole in the center of this circle of cardboard the size of the bolt, stick the bolt through it and tighten a washer on the bolt to hold the cardboard to the bolt. 4. Drill a hole in the top center of the clear Mr. Coffee lid and insert the bolt through the hole so the cardboard plunger is on the inside bottom of the lid. 5. When mixing dubbing, push the plunger down to keep the dubbing in the blades. Since the blades will push the dubbing up, you can help the mixing by moving the plunger up and down a few times during the mix. It only takes a few seconds to do the job.
