Hi all, I am trying to decide which rod to build that would suit my fly fishing needs. Based on a limited budget, I am looking at building my first rod which will be a 5-6wt 9' river/lake trout rod. I am almost completely sold on the St. Croix Legend Ultra blank, however have read great reviews on the G Loomis GL3. Both kits are around -140 for a moderate-fast rod.
Any help or suggestions for a fast/moderate-fast rod kit for around range would be helpful. I know all you veteran fly rod builders must have some good suggestions. Thanks, Jeremy
