I wil also throw in my  .02.  Four piece (or multi-piece ) rods today feel
just as good as 2 piece rods, and cast the same. However, 4 piece rods are
just so much easier to deal with. Particularly  if you plan on doing any
traveling (airline) , multi-piece rods are much easier to deal with.
Multi-piece rods are also just easier  for any fishing around home; they
just travel better. Any rods that I buy or build now are multi-piece rods
only.
