Hey All-
I was hanging around the local shop a few days ago,
browsing through an old issue of Northwest Fly Fishing
(Summer 2001) and found an article on an old
fisher/tyer by the name of Peter Schwab who fished for
steelhead around northern California and southern
Oregon, mainly the Klamath, Trinity, Shasta, Rogue and
Eel.
The article mentioned a number of fly patterns that he
pioneered, mostly involving bare wire bodies and
hairwings. I'm familiar with one of the patterns, the
Paint Brush and have tied a couple of them up and
tried them on steelies on the Deschutes. I'm
interested in finding some of his other patterns, but
haven't had any luck in the usual resources, including
VFB and the FFF Fly Pattern Encyclopedia. If anybody
has any info (recipes, pix, etc) on any of the
following patterns, I'd appreciate it.
1.Wood Pussy
2.Bellamy
3.Bobbie Dunn
4.Brass Hat
5.Queen Bess
6.Princess
7.Orange Steelheader
8.Van Luven
9.Copper Colonel
Thanks in advance for any help.
