OK, I got one for the gang.

Anybody have a good pattern for rooster-fish? Last year we got our butts
kicked- my only consolation was that it was my first time fishing for them.
Had a lot of lookers, but few takers- and we tried everything in out boxes.
One rooster was the size of a coffee table-I would really have liked to
tussel with him. I saw a fishing program on Sunday morning and they were
fishing roosters with spinning tackle and a large pearl red-headed
pencil-popper. They were being hit immediately.

I know speed of retrieve is a key- they'll hit anything skipping along at
high speed. But getting them to take the fastest two-handed retrieve I
could muster was just not happening. So I tied some look-alike poppers with
red popper heads and pearl awesum hair bodies, just in case. I'll give
those a shot this year.

But does anyone else fish for these and do you have any pointers? We had
great success with the dorado offshore, so maybe we can trade pointers.
