DEL,

I love using #6-10 White or Yellow Marabou Streamers, and have so for many years. I also recently started using all White or all yellow Clouser marabou minnows with Bead chain eyes, they really are the flyfishers' crappie jig. Crappie will eat Nymph patterns (Hares ears,Prince Nymphs, Pheasent tail Soft hackles) but on a whole they concentrate on Minnows, I'd use a Sink-tip or full sink line for most of my Crappie fishing as they suspend at depths where a Full floating line, even with a long leader, might miss. the Marabou CLousers work great with the full sink since the hook point rides up. A 5wt. will work fine, thought I'm in favor of a 6wt.... only because I'll catch School-size Bass along with the Crappies. Don't horse in the Crappie or you'll tear out the hook from their "Paper Mouths".... Above all You'll have alot of fun with the Crappie, until the water warms up too much...ENJOY!!!
