John, First let me say, any vise that suites you is a good vise. I would try to find a shop that has an assortment and would let you try them. If you can't do that then asking is the next best thing to do. I use the Dyna King Barracuda Jr., for most of my tying now. I have the Dyna King Squire that I use for travel tying sessions. Will be getting the Kingfisher soon. It is smaller and lighter than the Squire. Before I got the Dyna King vises I did all my production tying on a Regal and Norvise. I don't tie commercially any more so the Barracuda Jr. is my main vise. I do use the rotary part quite a bit. Once you get used to using it it just comes naturally into play. If you do decide on the Traveler I would strongly suggest getting the lever type jaws. I hate fiddling with two adjustments to set the hook in the jaws. I know I will get some flack on this, so be it. I am a vise junkie, Have no less than 15 of them. I still have my first "bought" vise, a Thompson that I bought back in the 40's for 2.50. Still take it out and tie a fly on it from time to time. We can tell you what we think but you will have to make the decision. Tony [EMAIL PROTECTED]
