Hello,

Had a great opening day - about 50 brook trout from 5"-13" - no big ones but
a lot of fun.

The fly with the most success was a dark brown Fox's Poopah. This is a
western fly with a lot of success - but I used it in NH and it outfished my
small diving caddis , and small black leeches (with peacock awesome hair) -
which both did very well.

We had some size 12-14 Quill Gordon's coming off the water. So I think
this caddis pupa fly really did an excellent job in imitating a mayfly
nymph.

If this is true is will become a new staple in my fly box - as I have
already ties green, and gray...

Has anyone else had the same good luck with this fly?

Thanks.

Chris
