Well,
Here's the trip report. The weather kinda sucked.... Rained on
and off the whole time we were there. The main pond yielded no fish, but
that was no surprise, we never catch any fish out of that pond. Went to
the back ponds, and latched into a bunch of crappie, bass, 'gills, and
pickerel. Except for the rain, we had a blast. Pickerel on a 4 weight fly
rod is "Sumtin Else"! No real big lunkers in the ponds, just a bunch of
medium sized large mouth, small mouth and reds. The crappie put up a hell
of a fight too! And those damned 'gills... I couldn't imagine the fight
you'd have on your hands if they got as big as 3 or 4 pounds. Got home
soaked to the bone (didn't pack any rain gear, it was sunny and 75 when we
left, what a pair of damn fool idiots - we stayed out from 3:30 PM to
almost 8:00 PM in the rain. It was too much fun!)
