[VFB] Sage Rod

Has anyone fished or owned a Sage RPL+ 8wt?   I've got a 4 wt which is my favorite rod and was considering buying an 8wt -- but I've heard the higher weight rods aren't as nice?   Also -- has anyone cast a 2 piece and a 4 piece RPL+ and do you notice any difference in the two?   Your help would be greatly appreciated.   Thanks -Ken-
