Nymphing is not the first thing to show a beginner unless you put on a
bobber.

Ooops.  That's not p.c.

Unless you put on a STRIKE INDICATOR.

Even then, it's difficult for someone who is still trying to figure out
which hand you use to hold the line and how to do the "Leisenring Lift"
without doing a "Fosbury Flop" to be able to concentrate on the line and
see/feel/sense the strike.

I always start beginners on top-water.....preferably poppers or floating
spiders for bluegill.

Yust my 2 sense wurt.
