In the state of SC, any fish that isn't caught by hook in the region of the mouth is considered to be "snagged" . Fly fishers don't go snagging. I say you didn't catch it. But, legally, if you brought it in, on hook and line, then you did.
Personally if it was me, I snagged it. I leave it to the general consensus.
