Sounds like a great Plan...Can I come up as well???? even thought I live in Los Angeles (land of the Lost) which is technically Southern California... I could assist in the teaching of how to get mowed over by waves, Snag & get great fights out of Kelp Stringers.. try to avoid but still damn near step on Stingrays, get a Lovely Sunburn, Cast your 7 wt. or larger until your arm falls off & maybe, just Maybe catch a surf perch not much bigger than the bluegill back home in the local pond... Ahhh the joys of Flyfishing in the Surf.....

All I can give you is a rather mumbled and slured version of "Albacore"....
One of these days soon the central Cal. listers should plan a day in the surf and learn from each other. I could give a full semester course in the art of being skunked in the salt.
