You know Jerry and the rest of the list. I have got to tell you this story and I swear that it is the God's(better not let the courts hear you saying that bad word) honest truth.

This I swear is true.

One time fishing in King's Harbor for Mackrel and Bonita, I got a good one on and out of the corner of my eye I saw this dark shadow zooming from the right. I knew it was a Harbor Seal.

I started to pull that line is as fast as I could and I got it in just in time to see that dark shadow come up right next to the gunwall and glare at me.

Me being the demure person that I am. I took the fish off the line and held it out for the seal to see. And I glared right back at him, knowing that I had won that round.

 

Well as fate would have it the Mackrell decided that he was close enough to the water that he was going to make a jump for it, and he did. I tried to catch him in mid air, but couldn't .

But the Harbor Seal was right there and caught it in mid air. Dove down and came back up right in front of me and held "MY CATCH" sideways in his mouth and showed it to me. I swear that he had a smile on his uguly face when he flipped it up and caught it head first and swallowed it right in front of me.

 

I know you think that I am a real fisherman and the only way you can tell if I am lying is when my mouth is moving, but I swear that it is true. You can ask my brother--the one that is not a fisherman--so you can believe him---that this story is really true.

   Alan's tale is soo true!!!! Those Seals will mess with you & do anything they can to eat your hooked fish... I've actually resorted to threatening the Seals with a Oar in the Skiff... so that my fishing Partner could release his Bonito... (That will surely get those PETA geeks pissed off!!!) You used to be able to fish a 6wt. in Kings Harbour...but since they have protected the Seals & the Population has climbed in the Harbour...you MUST use at least a 7wt... & Rip in the Bonito & Mackerel... Here Sharky,Sharky...I got a nice Seal for you to eat...Here Sharky, Sharky.....
