Hi Gang,

Back from another trip to Yellowstone N.P. I spent about 6 days fishing and
man was the fishing fantastic, I didn't do as well a month ago when the
weather was hot so this was nice. I used a variation of Lafontaines Airhead
the whole week long except for twice and did better then most folks I talked
to. I fished mainly canyon water with many boulders for the fish to hold up
around. I remember one fish on the Lamar river in the canyon I placed the
fly so that it swung under a boulder and right away a nice 19" Yellowstone
cutt grabbed the fly and headed around the boulder and into the fast water
it was a great fight and I got him in ok thanks to my net. The only reason I
mention the net is because I didn't have it with me the day before on the
same river and I hooked up with a really beautiful Yellowstone cutt who was
slurping bugs out of the foam and after a long fight on the fishes part and
a very tired right arm on my part I pulled to the shore a 21+ inch and as I
started to take the hook out and release the fella he darted off again and
snapped my 5x tippet. And now a trout swims the Lamar with an "airhead" in
his mouth. the net came in handy the next day. Well my little 7 1/2 ft.
feather light eagle claw did great as usual. 35+ fish in 2 hours is a lot of
fun. If anyone wants the pattern and instructions to my simplified version
of the airhead let me know. I'm still grinning.

 Tight lines...
