Here are some photo's & below is the pattern. http://www.graysharborcomputer.com/flyfish/tb2002.htm
Modified Airhead Hook = Dai-Riki #270 Size 12 3x long natural bend Thread = White 6/0 waxed Body = Hares ear dubbing Gold / Olive Hares Wing = Deer Hair / Thin translucent packing foam Head = Thin translucent packing foam bent back in bullet fashion Instructions: Wrap thread onto the hook back to the bend. Dub on a shaggy body leaving the course hairs in 1/3 of the way up from the bend of the hook. Now tie in a small pinch of deer hair for a wing just beyond the bend in the fashion of a deer hair caddis & cut off the loose hairs sticking out. Cut two small strips of foam aprox. 1/4 in. X 1 in. long. Now tie in one strip on the top of the fly facing toward the eye of the hook. Now wrap your thread back and tie a strip of foam on the bottom in the same way. Now fold both strips back in a bullet fashion and whip finish. Now cut the top foam stip half way back over the deer hair wing & cut it down the middle toward the front so that it is like two wings. Now cut the bottom strip slightly shorter and into three sections instead of two. Cut the middle strip almost all of the way off and the two little outside strips 1/4 the size of the top strips. I hope that makes sense, it is actually a very easy and quick fly to tie. I will include a sequence later. That's it for now... Bill P.
