Yes.  That is the only way I could make long hackle work.  It does float real nice as a parachute. I am not a big fan of CDC.  Use it on a few patterns, but some people are die hard.  I tend to use what ever is easy at hand. May be challenge is keeping out of the trees somedays:-) Bill Morrison
