I love my Simms lightweights. They are not felt and I am soooo pleased. In the winter these soles don't freeze on the rocks. They do not drip forever after getting out of the river. They are very lightweight which on long days saves some fatigue. The Simms company is very good to work with too. Oh, they have removable studs for the mossy rocks.

They are the cheapo Cabelas Velcro felt sole model. I have high arches on my feet, and I get pretty good foot pain on a day with good amounts of walking. I also have pretty weak ankles from endless sprains, so I would like a good stable upper. I fish the rivers of the Washington Cascades, which can be quite rocky and make for rough wading and hiking. I want to have a felt sole, and studs or cleats are optional and acceptable. I would love to keep it under $100, but a good pair of boots can get me to spend more. I guess my current favorites are Cabela's Master Guide, Cabela's Backcounty, and Hodgman's Lakestream boots, but I am open to others.
