May I add to this question? Since I live at
least 150 miles from the nearest fly shop (between Oklahoma City and Dallas), I
have to purchase most of my stuff online or through catalogs. Some of the
material is familiar - some not. Some may be interchangeable (if I don't
have one thing perhaps I can use another) while some may not be.
Can anyone recommend a good book on material?
I have several really good books on patterns, a few on technique, but the only
thing I have on material is either in the intro to the books or A.K. Best's book
on bleaching.
Thanks!!!
Different. Just tell Byard what you want to tie and he'll fix you up. I tie with mostly Hoffman/Whiting saddles. They come in a small pack if you don't want to tie 1000s. Tp be honest, I have a lot of necks but prefer the saddles. Better to have a little bit of good stuff than a lot of so-so IMHO. Murf |
