I have caught a lot trout here in MI which were full of snails, they were fat fish! There are lots of patterns for snails. If they are in fact Zebra Mussels that is very sad, those critters have found there way into alot of waters here. Thankfully some fish thrive on them. In Lake St Clair they cleared the water of algae which in turn has cause alot of problems with weed growth.
