Hi again Jeff,

Is Silver Creek the one that runs past the hatchery? If so I fished it last fall.
For me it was a pain to fish, lots of reeds, weeds, and other obsticles both in and
around the water, didn't catch anything either. Alan's suggestion about X-Diamond is
good, at this time of year the cost is usually 1/2 price. If you go, fish in the
upper pond until just before dark then fish the most likley stream pools you have
scoped out. You will need to be really stealthy approaching the stream as the water
will be very low and crystal clear. I fished this way last year and caught some
awsome rainbows. Especially in that upper pond.

Also, try the river that runs along the road from Hon-Dah to Whiteriver. Fish below
the hatchery, easy access and a nice stream. I caught lots of fish there last year
also.

Silver Creek was one of AZ best kept secrets. There has been alot written about it as of late. It's a spring creek 7 miles north of Show Low. There's only about 1 1/2 miles of fishable water, the rest goes through private land until it gets to White mountain lake. It's only about 6 feet wide in some places but deep and spreads out to about 15 feet wide in other places. The fish can be very selective at times and there are some monsters in there, especially in spring when the rainbows from the lake come up the creek to spawn. I haven't fished X-Diamond but plan to this spring.
I'll give another report on Friday or before if I can get internet access at on of the motels.
