I finally had a chance to meet up with our list's own "Don Johnson" last night in the parking lot of one of our local casino's. One hell of a nice guy. No, no gambling was involved... in fact we never went in but stayed in the parking lot talking about flies of all things. OK, I shivered my a** off talking about flies... next time I'll bring a coat. Keep your eyes out folks Don is coming up with some new innovative tying techniques that will really catch on in the tying world. Anyway the point of this post is to say "Nice job Don" In autumn's copy of "Fly Tyer" magazine... page 56 to be exact. Don has written a very good article on soft hackle flies. The article addresses a number of improvements in the ol' soft hackle patterns we are all used to. I will be incorporating these improvements in to my soft hackles for sure... NICE JOB DON!
