On the occasion of my 60th birthday, I have several gifts for my fellow listers !!! First is the movie "Standing in the Shadows of Motown". It is an hour an half of great music and story of the band and musicians behind the great sound from Motown between 1959 and the mid-70's. Some of the music is the best Rock and Rhythm'n' Blues ever produced. And while I was listening to a more intense blues in those days, John Hurt, Brownie and Sonny, Charlie Musselwhite, Lightin' Hopkins, Blind Lemon, Robert Johnson, etc, I was PARTYIN HARD to the Motown sounds and the Stax/Volt musicians. Being in Boston for those years was really the best!!!. With the exception of Robert Johnson I saw all of the above mentioned Bluesman as well Parker, Byrd, Mulligan, Baker, etc and the parties were legendary. Yup--sex, drugs, and rock'n'roll. GO SEE THE MOVIE-You will be in your mid-twenties for a couple of hours !! My second gift is a book- "The ULTIMATE GUIDE for fishing FLORIDA'S SPACE COAST !! If you cannot find out where to go with this book you are not trying. Best times of the year, high water or low water, what to throw and when and why.
