Preston:

Make sure you have a good thread base on the hook underneath the eyes before making the figure 8's. The added friction should help keep the eyes from sliding. I'll also make a couple wraps around the hook shank in front of and behind the eyes in the middle of the 8's to help tighten the thread. You might also want to add a drop or two of cement to the wrapped eyes and allow it to dry a bit before proceeding.

Hi Everyone,

I'm currently tying a pattern with mono dumbell eyes.
For the life of me I can't seem to securely stabilize
them without seemingly excessive wraps.

I've tried all sorts of wrapping methods but the eyes
still rotate around the hook.  Even the figure 8
doesn't work for me.

Any tips to secure the eyes in only a few wraps?
