You are right Ginger. I do not perform a figure eight. It is 4 wraps in one direction and 4 wraps in the other. It definately is the best approach...

Then go underneath like others have stated. And yes, Zap a gap (super glue gel)is a good finisher. I think this is also how they taught me to figure skate but that's another story.
