Just my musings and ramblings over lunch...for what they're worth.

Actually they're worth a lot  Don.  They make a lot of sense to me.  It's been my observation over the years that there are those involved in our sport/hobby/disease, that aren't satisfied fishing with a fly that they didn't "invent" themselves;  the types that think you have to re-invent the wheel every time you go fishing to justify yourself.  These individuals are usually severely constipated, have terrible problems with hemorrhoids, and do not sleep well, and probably wear underwear at least one size too small...

While in general it is considered rude and unethical to claim credit for someone else's work or idea, the fish  don't give a damn who invented that thing that just fooled mother nature and stuck them in the jaw!  All that matters is that it looks like what it was  supposed to look like and was presented in somewhat of a realistic manner.  It doesn't matter if it was invented "from scratch...," synthetic or natural, whip finished by hand or with a tool, or even if you learned the idea for the pattern from someone else.

Years ago on a popular Denver radio station there were two DJ's that talked about the "Church of IDM."  IDM = IT DON'T MATTER...! :-)
