I remember my father ice fishing when I was younger in Michigan but I can't
say it would appeal to me anymore. We used to take snowmobiles out to the
fishing shacks and some even drove their trucks out there.  It doesn't seem
like the ice gets thick enough anymore these days...?  Maybe it's just
me....
