Prayers have been answered. I am so glad that the water stopped and is
receding. Hope all continues to go well. By the way Rene, do you fly fish
for the carp there ?
Jimi

Jimi and all,
situation has improved a lot. The rain stopped and the water didnt rised as
much as expected. We came out last night with a maximum of 9.75 meter and
the water is now falling with 1 cm/hour.

The historic old town (incl. my favorite flyshop) stayed dry as well. Here
in the southern part of cologne a lot of streets are below water, I myself
live in a area which is save. We are now 6 meter above the regular level,
it needs 1,5 meter more that the water reaches me. Never had this in the
past.

If you want some pics:

Look at the third pic. Without this barriers the old town would have been
flooded and you see how tight it was.

water is moving down now to the Netherlands, hope our firends there will
stay dry as well.

Dry socks and tight lines

Rene
