Hello Vagn
I live in B.C. and have fished all of the waters you mention. First,
depending on various circumstances the Fraser may be closed depending on
the strength of salmon runs at that time. There is another river called
the Harrison which can be great for Coho at that time.Flies for the
Harrison Coho are Cristmas Tree, Rolled Muddler, KCK ( Kelly's Coho
Killer) same flies for the Vedder. The Skagit is my favorite river. BWO's
size 16 and18, Adams 16 and18, Comparadun and Sparkle Dun in 14,16 and18.
Gray wulffs and Quigley Cripples in smaller sizes are a good pattern as
well. The trout are generally not too fussy as long as the presentation
done well. The Dewdney Slough may not be fishable if we have a dry fall
like the one just past. If it is fishable Coho is the species you would be
angling for; same flies as the Harrison. Elk River is another of my
favorites. You will need some attractors such as Chernoble Ants,
Stimulators, Madam X and Turks Tarantula. BWO's and Comparaduns workwell.
Also a Blue Dun is a great pattern and don't forget to have some Elk Hair
Caddis
With only 2 weeks to fish I would focus on The Harrison, Skagit and the
Elk Rivers.
If you need any additional info please contact me directly. If you are not
familiar with any of the fly patterns let me know and I will give you the
tying instructions.
Regards
Mel
