John,
I heard of a fly called Zulu. There is a variation around which uses
o Tail: Red wool
o Body: Black wool, silver rib
o Body hackle and head hackle: Blue

I ty some beetle pattern, which use a dark blue dubbing (SLF) for the body. It catches trout but is it a troutfly.
BTW: The Zulu imitates a beetle as well.

This got posted on another list I hangout on:

www.troutbums.com/TechniquelySpeaking/article.cfm?articleID=65

If it won't come up, try www.troutbums.com and go to the Techniquely Speaking archives for the article on trout vision. Very interesting stuff. Just out of curiosity, does anyone know of any trout flies that are blue or mainly blue?
